I've been hanging around Freddie for the last couple of years and have heard him play a lot of these pieces several times; there is no doubt he is the composer. I do wonder how soon before the session these were composed. One piece from The Connection appears on an earlier Tommy Potter session, so some of the Shades Of Redd pieces may have been composed earlier as well. The arrrangements on Shades Of Redd are amazing. I am curious how they managed to get those together. I'm willing to believe that may have been a collaborative effort, like the Brooks/McLean sextet session from Jackie's Bag later that year. Definitely something I need to ask Freddie about. I wonder how much Tina was responsible for these arrangements. Bertrand.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I actually went to Micro Center (where I bought the PC) first thing on opening Saturday and got a very competent and friendly technician who cleaned it for me. He ran a second scanner as suggested above, something that does not run in real time which he therefore did not recommend for home use. I then sat there for an hour while a scan was done. Cost me nothing since they never checked it in for diagnostic. I scanned at home again which found one more infected file, but ran it again a few times and nothing more came up. Those funny websites are gone, and 'defender' does not come up with anything more. So I think I'm OK, knock on wood. I will definitely look into malwarebytes. As for Mac vs. PC, I asked around and apparently Macs are starting to get viruses as well. However, they are much less frequent, so there is a good chance my next computer will be a Mac. This one is still quite new... Bertrand.

It looks like a virus tried to come to my computer. I think I got rid of it except it looks like my browser keeps trying to access two sites which my antivirus ESET NOD32 keeps blocking (bigbadhead and zonedg seem to be the name of the sites). Managed to get it from Borders with 50% off (so $15 or $16). It was backordered but did show up eventually. 2 questions: 1) The labels are inverted (CD1 says 'CD2' and vice versa). Is this true of other people's copies (no big deal but I am curious). 2) Is the tune 'Scandia Skies' an alternate title for another tune? It sounds familiar... Bertrand.

This set and other tracks from the same gig were all put together on one Fresh Sound 2-CD set called Live At The Lighthouse '70. Get the later version, which has correct track titles and composers, not that anyone is getting royalties. Bertrand.
