Looking for Transition LP TRLP-18 "Jazz Down Beat" by Jay Migliori. Lord discography lists this LP but other sources say that the LP was never released. Perhaps it was issued by another label, such as Blue Note or Delmark, or by another title. The LP TRLP-30 "Jazz In Transition" booklet shows track listing and picture of this session and the LP has one of the TRLP-18 songs (Something's Gotta Give). It is likely that this session was never actually released as an LP. It probably exists only as a magnetic tape. The tape, if it still exists, is probably stored somewhere on a shelf or in a box of miscellaneous music. Hopefully the tape will eventually show up where it can be produced as an LP or on a CD. The Dick Wetmore Bethlehem session was recently released on CD by the Japanese (CDSOL-6097). It is available at Amazon.

According to Wayne Mendro the LP was recorded in Chicago, 3/31/61. It was recorded by an RCA engineer and was a private issue under no label. Thanks again to JSngry for helping to solve this puzzle.

Watch out for these 4-LP sets. Sometimes, because of CD 80 minute limit, some tracks are left off.

The 15 songs on the "Antique Art Pepper" CD have previously been issued by the Los Angeles Jazz Institute on their LAJI label #0012 CD. This CD is available to members of the LAJI.

Where would I get a 78 specific needle? Would it come with the turntable in addition to the 33/45 diamond needle?

Shorty Rogers and Elliott Lawrence on "Rock That Beat" on the Groove (RCA) label.

I notice that several of the discussed turntables have a 78 RPM speed in addition to the usual 45 and 33. Can the same needle with the light cartridge weight be used to play a 78? It seems to me that the diamond needle would not read the 78 grooves properly.
