Album Covers That Make You Say "Uhhhh...."

I think, "sorta", Mike. If you're referring to the Emanon One release, it had what was described as "Sketches from the 'Faces' Suite" and included Vortograph 3'56"/The Griffin 1'41"/Macrographs 3'47". I don't know how this matches up with what Amazon.de says the new release has: 1. 1st movement: Vortographs 9:57 2. 2nd movement: solarization 7:40 3. 3rd movement: panchromatic 3:41 4. 4th movement: Macrographic 13:38 Oh - I better check this one more closely ...

FWIW, Fresh Sound reissued some of their albums: 3 LPs on 2 CDs: Play Horace Silver/Blues And Ballads/In Concert 2 LPs on 1 CD: Water's Edge - Introducing The Mastersounds (plus two bonus tracks) I already have the latter - will give it a spin tomorrow.

Same here - since I, too, have to readjust the tonearm tracking force and anti-skating every time I switch ...

Faces was on one of the pricey double CD boxes Gigi Campi issued many years ago, but this is the first single CD reissue.

How are the results?

Dave Brubeck

Meanwhile I started reading Hall's book (you see it took me a while to finally get around to it), but am a bit disappointed - it could go more into details, for my taste, and its frequent digressions from strict chronology are distrcting me. I ordered Storb's book. -
I just listened to the 30 second samples - sounds a bit shaky, just like a first rehearsal. I'm not sure I need them, and if the track timings are accurate, I certauínly won't buy the box set just for these.

Here ya go: http://www.amazon.com/Impulse-50-First-Taylor-Collection/dp/B004VRIEYM/ref=sr_1_1_digr?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1303388384&sr=1-1 But look at the track timings of those last three tracks in the set!

What do you think of Creed Taylor as a producer and arranger
mikeweil replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Artists
That's the impression I get from his productions, too. More concerned with "producing" an album (his personal tastes included) than representing the artists' working groups. In the case of Cal Tjader there was one or two projects where it just didn't work with the studio crew he had contracted, but when they finally had Tjader's band flown in from California it clicked, and the album was done in one day. He should have let the musicians do their own thing a bit more. -
Computer Gurus: internet problems
mikeweil replied to GA Russell's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Never delete something that you do not exactly know what it is there for. They might be essential to your operating system. Try to get information about the purpose of these tasks first. Windows has quite a few things running in the background you may never use, but deleting them may damage your system, and getting replacement files is the more difficult the older your system is. Last time I deleted some of these I faced the fact that my burner was no longer recognized as such, and my sound card was silenced. It's all back working, but it took some time and effort. -

Album Covers with Wine, Cheese, and/or French Bread
mikeweil replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Has this been reissued? I have two Del-Fi reissues on CD, but heard about this one only here on the froum ... Best thing about the cover is, he sits on the wrong side of the keyboard. -
Eddie Hoh was on the Al Kooper - Mike Bloomfield - Stephen Stills Super Session .... Mickey Dolenz' intonation is hard to endure ...
