  1. Starting to listen to a Christmas present received last night from my best friend.
  2. The Hour, Season 2, episode 3 Fringe (I'm mot really digging this season like the last few) American Horror Story Asylum Fast and Loud
  3. Hey it's Christmas time. Keep it around as a potential last minute gift to someone. It's nice to have something like that in reserve.
  4. Hope it's a great day, and many happy returns
  5. Many many happy happy returns Jim!
  6. Santa please bring me an audio and/or video job for my friend Shawn.
  7. You know, I haven't listened in a long while and need to change that, but some of the very last recorded Bird sounded, to me, as if he were entering into a new territory not unlike the sounds on those Parkeranias, and sounding as if he were taking step towars a Colemanesque set of ideas and structure.
  8. RIP Ravi. Ravi is one of the few famous people I have met personally. He was the cousin of my roommate at boarding school Faizullah Guhr, and we met when he came to visit our school, Waterford-Kamhlaba in M'Babane, Swaziland.
  9. Just got back from a hearing in court (estate business) and this was what I was thinking I would play while I was coming back . . . . "Just ask the Axis. He knows everything."
  10. Dmitry, hope your doing well and have a great day.
  11. I think the Japanese remaster of the Roost session (I've only ever seen it in LP facsimile) is pirch correct. Just as hard to find I suppose.
  12. I used to like the earlier stuff more. . . now I listen mostly to Atlantic sides. What a flipping master. Anyone who hasn't seen it should see the Jazz Icons dvd. Amazing video and sound and performances.

Start here and when your jaw lifts off the floor check out some other recommendations from this thread.
  14. It used to bother me that early material would come out on these PD labels and would cause the original releasers of the material to not give us the material in more legitimate, better sounding, better annotated form. But over time I've come to realize the majors just aren't interested in giving us this stuff, period.
  15. Many happy happy returns David!
  16. Sandy, several on the Hoffman forum are reporting excellent sonics.
  17. Sounding amazing. Wonder who did the transfers on these Commodore sets for Atlantic. I have two sets, and there are no credits.
  18. It's entertaining and at times insightful. It's very much a baby boomer book in that there are lots of cultural references that a middle-age white goy would know. I have been sharing a lot of books on these matters with my Dad but didn't this one as these references would have less meaning to him. At its core it's a bit too much about John Coats and less about interpretation of Genesis. I enjoyed it but not as much as other books about Paul, Abram et al that I've read lately.
  19. I rename my playlists by double=clicking on the title in Playlist view and it opens the box for alteration. iTunes is going to treat a CDR as if it were a CD, that is it will try to access information from the database and will populate the information fields if the information is there.
  20. I haven't heard that one but Hermeto is something else!
