  2. [Here's the email - and actually, I don't think the name(s) will change] Starting Nov 6th, Your Membership Will Pay For Itself! Dear Concert Vault Member, On Thursday, November 6th, we will be replacing the Concert Vault Store with full access to Wolfgang's Vault, hailed as the greatest online collection of music merchandise and memorabilia in the world. On that date we will begin awarding a store credit equal in value to the cost of your membership every time it renews. Now your membership pays for itself! Your store credit remains available as long as your Concert Vault membership is active. It can be applied toward the purchase of any item in the Wolfgang's Vault store, where you will find everything that was available in the Concert Vault store plus tens of thousands of additional items. You will use the same email address to make purchases at Wolfgang's Vault as you have in Concert Vault and its store, and your store credits will be applied to your purchases automatically. When we make this change you will no longer receive a 10% discount on merchandise purchases - but until then please continue to enjoy your 10% discount on all merchandise in the CV Store. Thank you so much for your continued membership and support. Cheers, Concert Vault (Store credit will equal cost of membership and can be used on any single or combination of items in the Wolfgang’s Vault store. Additional store credit will be added at every membership renewal. Store credit can only be redeemed with an active membership. Store credit cannot be applied to membership or download purchases. Concert Vault reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of its membership benefits including the value and frequency of store credit.)
  3. I agree - it was not very clear. It seemed to me that it was about the merch, not the downloads...........and maybe getting rid of the "Concert Vault" name, too.
  4. The first real rain in MONTHS! Just in time for the Giants' World Series parade. Oh, well ... we need it.
  5. He's been using oxygen for a few years at least. I saw him in the audience for the Cookers at SFJAZZ a few weeks ago, and he looked pretty frail.
  6. I just saw Ronnie Cuber with the Mingus Big Band last week. Excellent, as usual.
  7. Mingus Big Band - although I don't know if they qualify as "modern" or not.
  8. Living in SF, I've seen those cars several times. You can't MISS them, that's for sure!
  9. Because they were behind you? How is Cafe Oto? I might try to get there on Sunday for EP if I can squeeze it in.
  10. Today I played disks from a couple of sets that I really haven't listened to much: Anita O'Day and Jack Teagarden.
  11. Next week: Mingus Big Band at Ronnie Scott's
  12. Yeah - looks a little cleaner, but overall still the same iTunes.
  13. The design can't be much worse. It's always been a very poorly designed program - which is surprising for Apple. I'm updating now.
  14. Sounds good, Peter. I look forward to a re-energized "Yoshi's".
  15. Yoshi's San Francisco changes name
  16. Good luck, GA. I think you're good to GO!
  17. I haven't used the stand-alone app for a while. I'm currently running it trough Chrome and don't have those issues. If I remember correctly, you can disable the auto-startup through Preferences, and can close it by going to File/Close (or maybe it's "Exit")
  18. I remember having an Egg album back in the 70s and liked it a lot. Don't remember why I got rid of it, but wouldn't mind hearing it again.
  19. I just listened to Heritage tonight on Spotify. On first listen it seemed a LOT less interesting than Pale Communion. This new album seems like a quantum leap for both songwriting and arrangements. I'll check out Damnation too, though.
  20. Funny you should mention Opeth. I just posted on the "Opeth Corner" thread yesterday.
  21. Been listening to Pale Communion a lot lately. Pretty astounding set of music. They cover a lot of ground - sometimes sounding like vintage Jethro Tull or Deep Purple and other times like early Hancock/Corea fusion, and a lot of influences from all over. Great stuff!
  22. About the name and the apostrophe, it's in the article:
