    • Wow. Then there's at least a decent chance this series has it as well. I must not have listened close enough. I don't have the software to measure it either, so that's why I don't want my answer to be definitive.
    • He's great on the two Ed Blackwell albums on Enja as well ... I fell in love with his playing as a kid, hearing his solos on "African Marketplace" again and again - one of my mom's favourite records, and now one of my own favourites.

His performance with Miles at the 1975 Newport Jazz Festival, at Avery Fisher Hall, was very favorably reviewed in the NY Times and the concert recording was released on the Jazz Masters CD label. Davis spoke very highly of their collaboration. "I haven't heard that much fire on the saxophone since 'Trane was in my band”.    His record Dune (Inner City/East Wind/1977) won critical acclaim in jazz circles as a ground breaking fusion album. His next album Natural Layers (Chiaroscuro Records/1977) utilized the talents of the extraordinary drummer/producer Narada Michael Walden and incorporated world rhythms in a tapestry of funk, fusion and jazz. Morrison has played with many legendary artists like Gil Evans, Al Foster, Buster Williams, Woody Shaw, Billy Hart, T-Bone Walker, Michael Shrieve, Michael Brecker, Masabumi Kikuchi and Ryo Kawasaki. He has brought his presence to some of Europe’s most prestigious jazz festivals, including those in Vienne, Nice, Paris, and Stockholm.  Sam Morrison © Roberto Cifarelli As a member of The Children on the Corner, the Electric Miles reunion band featuring the great Michael Henderson and tabla pioneer Badal Roy, Sam continues to explore new dimensions in jazz fusion. At the same time, he absorbed the revolutionary rock energy of the era at the Fillmore East, broadening his musical perspective.   Currently, Sam Morrison is actively working on a new trio album featuring Michael Shrieve, the original Santana drummer from Woodstock, and Patrick Gleeson, an electronic music pioneer.
