CTI reissues: box-set, 1971 concert, single titles
romualdo replied to ghost of miles's topic in Re-issues
were these "Southgate Palace" live versions released on earlier CTI CD's or are they making their first appearance on the most recent US reissues? -
we have a pharmacy here, the "Henderson Apotheke", which claims to be the only pharmacy world-wide named after Fletcher Henderson - could well be true... Didn't he have a masters degree in chemistry?

There's a link to HMV Japan in post #2 and they're also available from CDJapan at 999 yen or about $10 each, plus shipping. CD Japan is certainly the way to go - have been buying from them for a few years now -> a bit better than HMV Japan price wise (shipping more expensive with HMV)

All discographies I can access list two titles (Forest Flower, 2 parts & East of the Sun) as coming from the 66 Monterey concert (Sept 18) The other two (Sorcery & Song of Her) are from a studio session (NYC Sept 8, 1966) My CD version has applause (during & after the tracks) on both of the "studio" titles -> was this dubbed in to make the whole album appear as one performance? or are all the titles actually from the Monterey concert. I've tracked down (downloaded) a 66 Monterey concert program but there are no track details listed (wouldn't expect there to be anyway)

OMG! he will be missed Was listening to him long before I got into jazz - Kevin Ayers etc Will spin one of his Caroline/Virgin discs ".....Oh Really" (looks so young on the cover, but it was the mid 70's - Didn't realise he was 79)

How do you get those in without the bulk? Just jam them in the case? I have these as well but I usually keep them out of the case (for various grateful dead, floyd, U2 etc). I've never had a problem with that - they are so thin that they don't add a great deal to the overall thickness, even in multiple CD sets Have been able to close all my box sets once the sleeves are utilised

"Jim Chapin" - father of Tom (not Thomas) & Harry Chapin -
They are cool sets. Just wish they had thought of doing them years before I had bought some of these discs 3 or 4 times! Did you get a "shipped from UK" message when you ordered the Weather Report box? Has anyone had trouble getting the cds out of the sleeves ? I just got the woody shaw set and I had to use the same trick to get those cds out as on the ECM touchstones except these were alot harder to get out.....there's no way I'm putting them back in....will just store them in empty cases. My solution to this recurrent problem is the use of inner sleeves - have been buying these for a number of years (buy them in 50 or 100 lots from Sound Source CDs - see url) The discs are also much easier to get in & out once they're in the sleeve http://store.soundsourcecds.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_73&products_id=212 I would love to see all CD's come in these cardboard LP replica sleeves & with these inner sleeves the CDs are protected Jewel cases take up so much space

Any advice on searching for previous topics eg recently I wanted to post something on Hat Hut/Art rereleases - I knew there has been a previous/ongoing thread for this label Searched Hat Art, Hat Hut, Hatology but nothing came up so I started a new thread now today I see the thread I was trying to find "All Things Hat"!!! - I should have just searched for "Hat"

That was my first thought when I saw "ICP" (Insane Clown Posse). Shows how not hip I am, I guess... Googling ICP yields loads of "Insane Clown Posse" hits If you google ICP Bennink, that narrows the field

New Wayne Shorter Columbia Box set- 6 CDs
romualdo replied to jazzkrow's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Import CDS have the Shorter Columbia Box for $22.45 -
Thought they would have reached the 300 mark by now thinking seriously 'bout getting it but what a financial layout -> 399 euros plus 40 shipping Makes it over $550 Australian - never spent that amount on a single box set (closest was the Ellington RCA) Admittedly it will be 50CD's plus 3DVD's - will end up costing about $10 to $11 per item making it more justifiable hopefully that live dolphy title will be included (don't think there is any more left in the can) Someone convince me!! (maybe dip into my tax return for this year)

Thanks - now noted in the book's index!

Colin I considered that before I posted Tried searching for Hat Art & Hat Hut but nothing came up - Am I doing something wrong? Generally I don't have much luck finding previous threads by searching within organissimo - have had better luck by searching via google to find the old thread Any hints/help would be most appreciated
