This one really hurts. 

Jack Dejohnette was not only one of the greatest and most original drummers.   He was a titan of jazz music in every aspect.  Irreplaceable!

Terrible news for the beginning of the week. I'd only recently pulled out the ECM Special Edition set for a re-listen.

Got to see him at Big Ears with the second generation of Coltrane and Garrison.  I have known and respected his name for almost 50 years.
