The Coltrane set is really good. Not sure why Impulse didn't release the show in the early 70s. Sound quality isn't stellar as the original tapes were lost and is taken from producer Ed Michel's reference tapes. -

My CD has this cover/title: It's not your French pressing. There are times when Jordan sounds like he's playing in the other room. It likely has to do with the extreme stereo spread. The left channel is piano/bass and the tenor is hard right. It does give a weird feeling that the piano is front and center. -

I hadn't spun this in a while, so I have it playing now. The music is really good but the audio has that overly-bright/lousy bass recording that you get sometimes from recordings made in the late 70s/early 80s. The bass sounds particularly whiny here. It's too bad because Joe is really something.
