Note that public-domain labels like for instance Jazz Factory and Proper have no access to original sources like metal parts, mastertapes and what have you. Their releases are usually sourced from 78s, vinyl and CDs. If you're looking for a pitch-corrected CD release of the 1/10/1947 Roost date you need the Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordings 4CD-set that was released by Blue Note, as was said above.

The Braxton Marsh reissue does indeed have fewer tracks (10) than the original hat release (12). Does anyone have any idea why? By the way, the piano still sounds out-of-place to me.

Really? I've compared the Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven Recordings 4CD-set from 2000 that Schaap was involved in several times with the John R.T. Davies-mastered JSPs and I don't like it (the Schaap set) at all. It sounds harsh to me, especially in louder passages. Give me the Davies JSPs anytime, they sound much more natural to my ears.

Checked their website and noticed that they're offering more Capitol/EMI-owned stuff. Maybe that's how MC is involved, but that's pure speculation. I really have no idea.

Sophie Yates recorded 8 Suites from 1720 (5 on her Vol.2 and 3 on Vol.3), 8 Suites from 1733 (6 on Vol.1, 2 on Vol.3) and a prelude from 1733 (on Vol.3).

I agree, though I used to have problems with some non-musical noises on their recordings; that's why I sold them a few years ago, only to buy them again earlier this year. Are there any HIP interpretations of the symphonies that you prefer?
