I'd like it if your prediction came true! A Paris set would be great! Anyone think we'll see the Fillmore set today? I'm sweating bullets becuase a week ago my credit card account got all snafu'd and it's supposed to be fixed, but I just know that the universe may conspire to make this a problem for me and my pre-ordered set! I think it's due to be released today. . . and anyone that ordered it with express shipping should receive it today. . . .

Sorry, spelling got me there. I have heard Morrison on studio stuff from 1976. . .(Unknown Sessions Vol. 2 I think) the music was moving towards the song structure that came after the retirement. . . Morrison did okay, but really didn't make an impression on my memory!

Bartz and Liebman are my favorites. . . must say. And on those rare occasions when there was tenor from Lieberman or Grossman (apparently often edited out of any official release) to be heard it was really nice! Bartz was my favorite soprano saxohponist of the batch.

I can't find it right now, but I've seen a scan of a Thelonious Monk lp on Fontana called "Far Out" (I think) that was very similar. . . .

I guess I like it more. I like his political works. . . it is of its time and yet also seems timely almost any now. And I like the chanting and buildups and don't think they go on too long at all. I wish they would put it out as a domestic cd as well. . . . The Impulses they put out now in the LP By Request series (or whatever it is) sure are nice . . . .

What about the Bernstein and Brubeck one (not sure of the exact title?) That would be cool to hear.

Right. And "Free" is part of the Farmer-Golson Mosaic set, which has so many great sessions within it that it and the Jazz Crusaders box sets are among the best values available in jazz. "Things Have Got to Change" I really like and wish it were available domestically. I have a K2 Impulse cd from Japan, and the iTunes version is a digital clone of that.

Sorry ASN, I wasn't quite awake yet. I have the cd version of that Master Jazz set. I would never NOT buy a Master Jazz session. This is a great set. I also highly recommend the Earl Hines cds that are NOT a part of this set (there is only one track shared) and the Roy Eldgridge, Jimmy Rushing. . . . Anything on that label I think is high quality jazz produced with a level head.

If you love piano and piano playing I have no fear you would like this one a lot. I can't imagine NOT being a piano lover, so I can't put myself into an objective stance to give a less biased opinion!
